I thought the accents need to be around 800hz and 1600hz with a Q setting set to small. This is just an example but it goes like this in many ways when fiddling with the EQ. I'm really having a hard time to get the EQ right, when I need more bass the low end gets muddy and I need to raise the low-cut so back to lack of low end. I know for video's it's also a matter of mixing, but then still from a basic rig I should be able to get at least quite a bit in the right direction.īut the real challenge begins when I start with the EQ (in the X-section) to dial in the proper EQ settings for the sound I'm looking for.ĭo I need to load the tone I'm looking for in an frequency analyser to find the frequencies hotspots I need to accentuate? So, high gain without loosing too much clarity and tightness. The sound I'm looking for is something like Orden Ogan, Gojira and As I Lay Dying (the video Josh Middleton posted somewhere else on this forum too). I'm interested in Mesa Rectifier, 5150 and Framus Dragon rigs and I've found some that sound really good. Maybe it's a stupid question but I've tried loads of different rigs, good rigs but it's far from the tone I'm looking for eventhough the amps are the ones I'm looking for. That reinforces my desire to copy rackspaces, swap amps and fx, and not have to re-link every widget every time.I hope someone can help me out. I go back and forth between a Strat and a PRS and generally use different racks/variations for them. That aside, with all of them I’ve found presets that sound awesome with one guitar and total garbage with another. I picked TH-U largely because it makes that easier and faster for me. Stop messing around with endless combinations.” But I’ve come to accept that I seem to enjoy messing with endless combinations. (Although I think some are starting to get better about keeping parameters linked.)Īt various times in the past I’d tell myself “just pick one amp, one distortion, one chorus, one reverb, and get on with playing. Importing Guitar Rig Preset: 1 Extract your. 2- Now you can see your version number on Top-Left. With most of them, if you change your Amp you need to re-connect all your widgets. 1- Open your Guitar Rig and go to Help About Guitar Rig. That’s not how most of the other guitar plugin suites worked historically, although some seem to be picking up on that ability. All my widgets are still properly attached to their parameters. I swap the Marshal amp for a Fender Twin and swap the Tube Screamer for an SD-1. I have all my widgets set up and they’re working. In that rack I have Marshall JCM800 and a Tube Screamer. Specifically, let’s say I build a TH-U rackspace with an amp, chorus, and distortion then I link widgets to Amp Gain, Amp Bass/Mid/Treble, Overdrive Tone, Overdrive Gain, etc. I settled on TH-U primarily because I liked how the VST parameter interface worked with GP better than the others. They can all produce sounds anywhere from fantastic to garbage, depending on how adept you are at figuring out what it is about the sound you’re hearing you do or don’t like, how to change it, and what your personal taste is. My 2c having used or tried more or less all of the major guitar plugin suites over the years…
